It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

So Tsukino Con 2011 is tomorrow!! I'm really excited since I couldn't go last year because I was in the hospital. TT_TT

They've changed the name to Yukino Con so that instead of "Convention of the Moon" it's "Convention of the Snow" since Victoria decided to dump snow yesterday morning. We got 16 inches at our house. ><

No one was at school. I think we had 137 people at first (1/6 of our school's population) and it was down to 50 by the end of the day. So

and I went to Kaytlyn's house after first period and watched the first half of Twilight, Repoo! The Genetic Opera and The Quest for Camelot. We got about 15 minutes into QfC before our mum called saying she was parked down the road.

We walked the little ways to the car, which was parked at the bottom of a hill, and Ethan slipped, landing on his palm. He said it didn't hurt, but that he thought it was sprained. I said it was probably just twisted. We went to the store to get some extra stuff for my last-minute cosplay prep and stuff for dinner (also mum wanted liquor) then home. Mum and I, being in the front seat, didn't see his wrist until we got home. There was a HUGE bump and he was trying not to cry. My immediate thought "Holy shit, he broke it".

Dad got home right after us, looked at it, splinted it quickly, and took him to the hospital.

He DID break it. And we didn't notice until about an hour after it happened. He's in a cast but still coming to YUKIno. xD

I'm being Larxene from Kingdom Hearts II on Friday and busing down after lunch from school. On Saturday and Sunday I'm being !M!Sheik from Legends of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I'm bringing my two little sisters as Kid Zelda and Saria. ^^ I'm super excited. We're doing a walk-on for the Cosplay Contest hopefully with a Link or two...

'Nyways, I can go to the Yaoi Panel this year! ^^ I'm excited for THAT.

So: are you guys going? If I know you IRL then you don't need to answer, but if there's anyone I don't know IRL that lives in the area, I'd love to meet you!

You only need to be 16 to go to the panel. It's 18 if you want to go to the actual Hentai room. And they don't check ID for the panel, either. Just come on in next year!!
